Comprehensive overview of the 2023 scholarship year: quota of 200 scholarships, management structure, termination criteria and outcomes, DWU St. Benedict's campus (19 awardees), ODF team visit to Madang (July 2023), student meet-and-greet, community engagement reports, and the newly established DWU ODF Alumni Foundation.

2024 Mobile Clinic Report

DASA Tufi Mobile Clinic — Northern (Oro) Province

DWU Adventist Students Association (DASA)

5-day medical ministry at Tufi station, December 10–14, 2024. 41 participants including 20 medical missionaries, 3 health professionals, 17 clinical students. 543 patients seen across 4 clinic sites; 129 vaccinations; 6 referrals to Oro Provincial Hospital. Services: static clinic, mobile clinic, physiotherapy, eye care, antenatal, family planning.

2024 Individual Service Report

ODF Community Service Report 2024 — Emmanuel Maithe

Emmanuel Maithe · Rehabilitation Science (Physiotherapy)

Year-round community service comprising: (1) daily cleaning of FMHS building for 40 weeks; (2) assisting meal preparation at Paramed Student mass for 40 weeks; (3) organizing the International Day for Persons with Disability on 3 December 2024 in East New Britain Province, in collaboration with the Community Development Office and Nonga General Hospital.

Community Drive Awareness & Health Center Donation — Jiwaka Province

DWU FMHS Jiwaka Student Group

3-day health awareness drive to 4 communities across 3 districts of Jiwaka Province. Topics: cervical cancer, homebrew alcohol, OTC medication misuse, immunization, waste management, personal hygiene. Donation of medical supplies to Fatima Health Centre. Covered by NBC and EMTV national news. 25 participants including 11 ODF awardees.

2022 Community Awareness Report

Community Clean-Up & Awareness Mini Programmatic Report — Kudjip, Jiwaka

DWU FMHS Jiwaka Students · 16 December 2022

Mass community clean-up of Kudjip Market on 16 December 2022 involving 100+ participants. Two donated trucks removed waste. 2-hour health awareness session on breast and cervical cancers with pamphlets distributed. Seven ODF awardees led the effort, supported by Jiwaka Provincial Administrator Mr. Joseph Karap.

One-week awareness across all 4 districts of WHP, Nov-Dec 2022. Visited Togoba SDA Primary, Kwip Primary, Kitip Community. Topics: STIs, smoking, alcohol, nutrition, oral health, maternal and childhood mortality. WHPHA and Mt. Hagen City Authority partnered.

19 ODF awardees at Wewak campus pooled allowances (K50/K20) to donate a brass cutter to the school administration. Witnessed by Dr. Clement Manineng and Dr. Esther Batia. A model of collective scholar giving back.

Intensive Ultrasonography Crash Course — SonoSim® Simulator Program

20-hour elective course for Year-4 MBBS students using the SonoSim® Ultrasound Simulator, sponsored by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Faculty: Dr. Tigali (obstetric ultrasound) and Prof. Jerzy Kuzma (gastrointestinal and urological). Course divided into two 10-hour modules: (1) Basic Obstetrics & Female Reproductive Pathologies; (2) Liver, Gall Bladder, Kidneys & Urinary Bladder. Certificate of completion awarded to all 20 student participants plus 2 junior faculty doctors.
