Long-term community impact

Founded to remove financial barriers for talented students from remote PNG villages, the ODF Scholarship at DWU has supported hundreds of scholars — nurses, doctors, teachers, engineers, and public servants — who return home to serve their communities. This is their story.

Five Pillars of Lasting Impact

The Old Dart Foundation works across five strategic areas to support Papua New Guinea's long-term human-resource development.

Education Support

Full-tuition scholarships at Divine Word University, removing the financial barrier that keeps talented PNG students from higher education.

Leadership Development

Mentorship from ODF alumni and industry leaders preparing scholars to lead in their professions and communities.

Community Development

Scholars return home to lead infrastructure, healthcare, and education projects in their rural and remote communities.

Capacity Building

Training and skills programs across faculties to strengthen the next generation of PNG professionals.

Long-term HR Development

Building a sustainable pipeline of health workers, educators, and public servants for Papua New Guinea.

A Decade of Partnership with Divine Word University

For over ten years, the Old Dart Foundation has worked alongside Divine Word University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in Madang. Together we identify, fund, and support students from rural and remote PNG provinces who would otherwise be unable to pursue tertiary education.

  • Joint selection committee. ODF and DWU faculty review every candidate together.
  • Embedded academic support. Scholars receive guidance from DWU faculty throughout their studies.
  • Focus on health & community service. Scholars commit to returning home to serve their communities.

With special thanks to Professor J. Kuzma and Kossy Sindek for leading the partnership at DWU.

The Difference It Makes in Your Life

Beyond the funding, this is about who you become.

Student studying without financial stress

Study Without the Weight of Financial Stress

Imagine showing up to every lecture fully present — not calculating whether you can afford next semester's fees. Financial stress is one of the biggest reasons talented students drop out before they ever reach their potential.

Our scholarship completely removes that barrier. You focus on learning, growing, and achieving. We handle everything else. This isn't just financial aid — it's the freedom to become who you're meant to be.
